Donate · recycle · e-waste

Donate your tech,
recycle your e-waste.

Whatever you've got, working or not, there's a right way to move it on. Techie Australia is a reuse charity: we refurbish donated devices for people who can't afford to get online, and we handle e-waste too, with certified data destruction for business gear and paid collection across Sydney Metro.

What have you got?

Four paths. Find the one that matches your situation and we'll take it from there.

It still works, or it could.

Laptops, desktops, phones, tablets, monitors, chargers and cables. Working, or needing a small repair like a new battery or a cracked screen. This is what we want, and we collect from you, so there's nothing to drop off.

It's business gear, or it holds data.

Old office fleets, servers, anything with company data on it. We offer IT asset disposal with certified data destruction, handled from pickup to wipe.

It's e-waste, and there's only a little.

A single broken printer or a laptop that's stopped working isn't something we can rehome. Donate it and we end up paying to dispose of it. Most councils take household e-waste for free.

Find a drop-off near you

It's e-waste, and there's a lot.

We can take it off your hands with paid e-waste collection across Sydney Metro. Price depends on where you are, what it is, and how much. Get in touch and we'll sort out a quote.

How collection works

We come to you.

We don't have a drop-off point. Once you tell us what you've got, we'll arrange a pickup that suits both of us. If you've only got a device or two, tell us and we'll see whether we can fold it into a nearby run.

Tell us what you have

Start a donation or drop us a line with the rough details.

We arrange a pickup

A collection time that suits you, no dropping anything off.

It gets a second life

We refurbish what we can and get it into the right hands.

Why we're picky

Every hour counts.

Every hour we spend sorting and paying to dispose of broken gear is an hour we're not getting a working laptop to someone who needs one. Being clear about what we take keeps the lights on and the devices moving.

That's why the paid services exist. IT asset disposal and bulk collection cost us real money to run, and the margin helps subsidise refurbished devices for the people who need them.

The good stuff, in detail
